Fourteen artists from around the globe come together for Super Saturated, opening June 1st 2017 at Flatbed Press. Building upon the subject and success of Saturated, an exhibition assembled by Flash Collective for PrintAustin earlier this year, Super Saturated presents a variety of artworks in which strong use of color is a central theme. Highlights include local artist Dawn Okoro’s figurative painting Chassis, Elizabeth Busey’s complex reductive relief print Highways of Life and Katherine Miller’s captivating and subtle artist’s book, Wake. From the humor of David Driesbach’s Flaming Meatballs to the intense abstraction of Gregory Santos’ Subway Showtime 7, this exhibition offers a broad take on how color can support narrative structure within visual art. The exhibition is supported in part by a grant from the City of Austin’s Cultural Arts Division Community Initiatives program.
